What Is Rightmove.co.uk? We Explain Here
The largest online real estate marketplace and property website in the United Kingdom, Rightmove.co.uk, is operated by Rightmove plc, a UK-based business.
Rightmove.co.uk Limited was established in 2000 as a joint venture between Halifax, Countrywide plc, Royal & Sun Alliance, and Connells, four of the leading real estate companies in the UK. On March 15, 2006, it debuted on the London Stock Exchange and changed its name to Rightmove plc.
It acquired 67% of Holiday Lettings Limited in 2007. One of the original investors, HBOS, sold its Rightmove stock in May 2008. According to Forbes, Rightmove uses a two-sided business strategy that caters to 20,000 marketers of available properties on one side and a large “audience” for property listings on the other.
Rightmove generates revenue by listing estate agents on its website and providing those agents with extra advertising solutions. Users that conduct searches for the estate agent’s designated location can see the advertisements.
Rightmove has hired a new chief executive from outside the organisation. Johan Svanström will take over as Rightmove’s CEO. Svanström, a partner in the growth advisory team of Stockholm-based private equity firm EQT, will join the organisation.
Who may place an ad on Rightmove?
You must be an estate agent, lettings agent, or new home developer in order to list properties on Rightmove. Rightmove is a terrific way to reach potential buyers and landlords. More people viewing your properties will likely generate more enquiries, which could speed up the sale.
