Methodology

The order of the companies on the 2022 Inc. 5000 is determined by the rate of revenue growth between 2018 and 2021. Companies must have been established and making money by March 31, 2018, to be eligible. As of December 31, 2021, they must be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other businesses. Some of the companies on the list might have gone public since then or been bought. For 2018, the needed minimum revenue is $100,000; for 2021, it is $2 million. Inc., as always, has the right to reject applications for arbitrary reasons. Rankings of companies were derived from growth rates that were calculated to four decimal places.
