Legal Cheek Announces 2022 Award Winners

The Legal Cheek (LC) annual awards returned this year, to celebrate the top-trainee rated firms and chambers of the year. The awards are based on the results of LC’s annual survey of over 2000 trainee and junior lawyers.

Legal Cheek is a British legal news website. It also has a careers section featuring research about law firms and barrister chambers and a large following on social media.

This year’s LC Awards was held in London and welcomed over three-hundred guests from the United Kingdom’s leading law firms and chambers.

BARBRI was the sponsor of the 2022 LC Awards. BARBRI is a leader in international legal education. As global legal educators, BARBRI believe in the importance of training 21st century lawyers for a global legal career.

After a reception with Prosecco, BARBRI managing director Lucie Allen took to the stage to deliver a presentation about the SQE and the importance of diversity in the legal profession, introducing their initiative to reduce barriers to entry and strengthen diversity in the legal sector.

Legal Cheek editor and Awards host Thomas Connelly was then joined by award sponsors and LC’s student campus ambassadors to announce the winners of the 25 categories making up this year’s awards.

Having completed the BPTC at Northumbria University in 2012, Thomas Connelly practised as a County Court advocate for a year before joining the British legal news website in 2013.

Current Attorney General Suella Braverman, as well as Love Island 2021 finalist Tyler Cruickshank and X Factor and Celebrity Big Brother star Katie Waissel made special guest appearances to present the winners of categories Best Journal Contribution, Best Use of Social Media and Best Firm for Work / Life Balance with their awards.
