Joshua Shapiro is A New Corporate Partner at Eversheds
Joshua Shapiro has joined Eversheds Sutherland as a partner in the company’s Corporate Practice Group in Washington, DC. Counselling clients through the regulatory evaluation of mergers and acquisitions, is the main emphasis of Joshua’s work.
Josh’s hiring strengthens Eversheds Sutherland’s antitrust expertise and overall M&A practise, according to Mark D. Wasserman, Co-CEO. Josh’s outstanding transactional antitrust expertise will give our clients more support as they go through the M&A process.
In Joshua’s antitrust practise, he primarily assists clients whose merger applications are being investigated by the FTC and DOJ. Additionally, he counsels and advises clients strategically on important competition-related issues and has a wealth of antitrust litigation experience. He also frequently instructs and advises clients on matters related to antitrust compliance. Energy, food and drink, financial services, insurance, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, technology, software, automobiles, and airlines are just a few of the areas Joshua has worked in.
According to Robert J. Pile, Co-Head of Global Corporate, “Josh’s diversity of business knowledge and experience within the US and abroad is a great complement to our corporate practise as our clients navigate a constantly changing antitrust landscape.” “I am thrilled to welcome him to the firm,” he said. “His ability to educate company executives through the complex regulatory compliance involved with M&A is vital to the success of our clients in their transactions.”
Joshua was a partner in Thompson Hine’s Antitrust, Competition and Distribution practise department until he joined Eversheds Sutherland. He is currently the vice chair of the American Bar Association’s Antitrust Section’s US Comments and Policy Committee. He received both his undergraduate degree from Amherst College and his law degree from Emory University School of Law.
