2020 Diversity Scholarship Recipients
An example of a scholarship is when someone pays your college tuition for you. A specific gift of money or other aid, as by a foundation, to help a student pay for instruction. The knowledge attained by scholars, collectively.
Arent Fox is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2020 Arent Fox Diversity Scholarship. Each second-year law student will receive a $20000 award and participate in the law firm’s 2020 Summer Program.
Diversity produces different perspectives, richer thinking, and more creative solutions to the challenges our clients face. Our law firm is committed to seeking and retaining a diverse group of attorneys and staff.
Arent Fox is a national white shoe law firm and lobbying firm. It represents global corporations, local and national politicians, and large non-profit organisations.
The law firm is ranked 77th on the Vault Law 100 list of most prestigious law firms in the United States.
Since 2006, the law firm has annually awarded diversity scholarships to promising law students. The Diversity Scholarship is part of the law firm’s broader efforts to recruit, retain, and promote women, lawyers of colour, and LGBTQ lawyers, and to ensure that adequate law firm resources are dedicated to their training, mentoring, and business development.
The following students demonstrated a commitment to learning and practicing law:
- Rita Liu (Washington University School of Law) – BOS Office
- Destiny Planter (University of North Carolina School of Law) – DC Office
- Fernanda Jara (Loyola Law School, Los Angeles) – LA Office
- Tisha Martin (University of North Carolina School of Law) – NY Office
- Derek Ha (University of California, Berkeley, School of Law) – SF Office
The scholarship will be paid in two instalments: $10000 during the student’s second-year summer and another $10000 paid when the student returns to Arent Fox as an associate after graduation.
