Firm Overview:

A story that matters

We believe that we’re only as good as the good we do.

All the facts and figures that talk to our size and diversity and years of history, as notable and important as they may be, are secondary to the truest measure of Deloitte: the impact we make in the world.

So, when people ask, “what’s different about Deloitte?” the answer resides in the many specific examples of where we have helped Deloitte member firm clients, our people, and sections of society to achieve remarkable goals, solve complex problems or make meaningful progress. Deeper still, it’s in the beliefs, behaviors and fundamental sense of purpose that underpin all that we do.

With over 150 years of hard work and commitment to making a real difference, our organization has grown in scale and diversity—approximately 286,000 people in 150 countries and territories, providing audit, tax, legal, financial advisory, risk advisory, and consulting services—yet our shared culture remains the same.

For us, good isn’t good enough. We aim to be the best at all that we do—to help clients realize their ambitions; to make a positive difference in society; and to maximize the success of our people. This drive fuels the commitment and humanity that run deep through our every action.

That’s what makes us truly different at Deloitte. Not how big we are, where we are, nor what services we offer. What really defines us is our drive to make an impact that matters in the world.

Sergio Cardoso

I am delighted to be a director in our market-leading, cross-discipline technology, media and telecoms (TMT) team. My focus is on dynamic, fast-growing and entrepreneurial private companies, as well as multinational and AIM-listed groups.  Although I am based in the UK, I frequently work in the US, South America and throughout Europe.

In my relationship role, I help businesses with a range of issues including planning for efficient corporate structures, planning for transactions (mainly new equity financing), employee and founder equity participation schemes, group structuring and exit planning.

I am part of Grant Thornton International’s Global audit quality monitoring team, monitoring compliance with professional auditing and accounting standards and Grant Thornton global audit policies.  Promoting the delivery of a consistent, high quality client service worldwide.

Outside of work, I’m a full-time dad to daughter, but when I am not performing my usual taxi service to clubs, parties and soft play I can still be regularly found at Craven Cottage.

Practice:

We believe that today’s world is all about connecting across businesses and industries, between public and private. And we have a track record of making that happen. Working with dynamic growing businesses is in our DNA. We provide advice to more than 40,000 dynamic organisations across the public and private sector, and working with them excites us because we know they help a vibrant economy to thrive.

Working with our clients also means we see the challenges of doing business in a complex and interconnected world first hand. This means we’re in an ideal position to help turn these new realities into opportunities, and to do so in a way which makes a direct contribution to building a stronger society for everyone at the same time.

We are confident that focusing on shaping a vibrant economy is good for our clients, good for the communities they serve and good for our business.

As a Grant Thornton member firm, we are part of a network of over 40,000 people in over 130 countries. In the UK we are led by 185 partners and over 4,500 people under the UK’s first shared enterprise model.
