Rohith P. George is a partner in the Technology Transactions practice in Mayer Brown’s Palo Alto office. Rohith’s practice focuses on helping companies more efficiently utilize their operating budgets, including in the areas of traditional outsourcing and emerging technologies. In addition, he regularly provides counsel to companies regarding the technology issues associated with major corporate transactions.
With respect to traditional outsourcing, Rohith has represented clients in a broad range of transactions involving the outsourcing of business process functions (e.g., facilities management, transactional real estate services, finance and accounting, etc.) and the outsourcing of technology functions (e.g., application development and maintenance, network management, infrastructure, help desk, call center, etc.). This involves advising clients through the full sourcing process, from RFP/RFI through the negotiation of final service agreements and beyond, including the re-structuring and re-negotiating, managing and/or termination of such agreements.
With respect to emerging technologies, Rohith has represented clients in increasing numbers of contracts with digital services providers on private and public cloud “As a Service” agreements and on appropriate regulatory, risk management, privacy, data protection, data use and analytics and licensing terms for cloud contracts. In addition, he assists clients that are working to develop, license, market, distribute and acquire rights in a wide variety of technology-related products and services, including computer software and hardware and cloud services.
With respect to corporate transactions, Rohith has worked to address IT-related issues that are of concern to clients involved in major corporate transactions (e.g., acquisitions, divestitures, spin-offs, etc.), including representing clients in the negotiation of transitional service arrangements required as a result of such transactions. He has also represented clients involved in FinTech and InsurTech transactions, technology joint ventures and other strategic alliances.
Rohith has represented companies in many different industries, including consumer products, insurance, financial services, chemicals, manufacturing, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals.
