Harry Chawla has extensive experience in the area of Banking & Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Real Estate. Harry has advised clients in the banking and financial services sector, real estate sector, hospitality, health care, automobile, aviation, telecom, IT, ITES, consumer goods etc.

He has advised and represented clients on issues pertaining to corporate finance, both domestic and cross border, debt restructuring and refinancing, securitization, acquisition finance, structured finance, bonds and similar instruments. He has acted for both lenders and borrowers and been involved in complex transactions involving multiple lenders across jurisdictions.

Harry also has wide experience in general corporate and commercial laws. Harry has extensive experience in the real estate sector, and represents some of the largest players in the Indian real estate market, including several Indian companies as well as foreign investors. He has also assisted Government of India in the drafting of legislations in this field.

He has also participated in business strategy evolution and formulation process with several clients, vis-à-vis their new ventures and business initiatives and has advised in establishing, operationalization and implementation of the business strategies of the clients. He has also advised several clients on strategizing in dispute resolution, negotiation and settlement etc.

Harry’s name has been featured in the A – List of India’s top 100 lawyers in 2016 as published by the India Business Law Journal. He has recently been recognized as a Market Leading Lawyer 2018 for Corporate and M&A by AsiaLaw Leading Lawyers.

Dimitris Kourkoumelis

Born in Athens in 1967, Dimitris Kourkoumelis holds a Law Degree from Athens Law School, a Master in Law from Cambridge University and a Master in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. A highly experienced projects real estate and public procurement attorney, he is a member of the Legal Committee of the Technical Chamber of Greece and was a member of the State Experts Committee for Public Works. During the last 15 years he was actively involved advising sponsors, contractors, consultants and the government in most public and privately financed projects in Greece including the Attiki Odos ring road, the Rion Antirrion Bridge, the Athens International Airport, the Athens Metro, the Egnatia and PATHE Motorways, the Ionia Odos Highway, the Olympic Projects, the Athens and Thessaloniki Concert Halls, the New Acropolis Museum and the new National Opera and National Library, at the Athens Faliron Delta. Further he had a vast exposure in energy and property projects including a pioneer biogas to energy project in Athens, several wind farm projects all over Greece and many residential, commercial, leisure and sports developments. He practices on non-contentious as well as contentious matters and has a long construction litigation and arbitration experience. Dimitris Kourkoumelis served as Secretary General of the Ministry of the Aegean and Island Policy (2004-2005). He speaks English and French.

Hugh Clohessy

Hugh Clohessy has a broad practice focused on work in the areas of Property, Corporate Finance, Company and Commercial Law and Insolvency. Hugh obtained a BCL from University College Cork and qualified as a solicitor with a leading commercial and banking practice and is a co-founding partner of the firm. Antonella Imbers

Antonella Imbers joined Arias in 2014 in the Corporate Department, area in which she currently focuses her practice assisting national and international companies on commercial, registry, permits and development matters. She has participated in the execution of bank acquisition projects, examining corporate, contractual and real estate topics, among others.

She worked for the United States Embassy in El Salvador, in the Department of Homeland Security, providing investigative support in law enforcement projects against organized crime such as SAFE and CITADEL.
