Antonella Imbers

Antonella Imbers joined Arias in 2014 in the Corporate Department, area in which she currently focuses her practice assisting national and international companies on commercial, registry, permits and development matters. She has participated in the execution of bank acquisition projects, examining corporate, contractual and real estate topics, among others.

She worked for the United States Embassy in El Salvador, in the Department of Homeland Security, providing investigative support in law enforcement projects against organized crime such as SAFE and CITADEL. She has previous work experience in the areas of commercial, civil, immigration and intellectual property law.

Sophie van Lint

Sophie van Lint assisted the Island Territory of Bonaire on adjusting, supplementing or converting all local legislation due to the constitutional changes in 2010. Furthermore, she assists clients in the field of Hospitality & Leisure, such as hotels and hotel chains. Before she joined VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne, Sophie worked as a general manager of a hotel in Saba for two years. Based on this experience she understands the challenges that entrepreneurs in this sector are confronted with. She advises them on employee and real estate issues. Also in this sector Sophie assists in legislative processes, such as the new legislation for all-inclusive accommodation on Aruba that will come into effect in 2016.

Sophie obtained a masters degree in private law at the University of Tilburg in 2005. Before she moved to the Dutch Caribbean, she worked as a clerk at the court in Dordrecht. From 2013 to 2016 Sophie was Secretary of the Bonaire Bar Association.

Dr. Darwin HEM (Naryth HEM)

Dr. Darwin HEM (Naryth HEM) is Principal Partner at BNG Legal. Darwin is admitted to practice law in Cambodia, a member of the Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia (BAKC), an international associate member of the American Bar Association, a member of APAA (Asian Patent Attorneys Association), LAWASIA (The Law Association for Asia and the Pacific); a member of the Working Party on the Accession of Cambodia into the World Trade Organization. He is a licensed Trademark Agent in Cambodia. Also, Darwin sits as an arbitrator at the Cambodian Arbitration Council and is an advisory member for a number of important businesses and professional associations in Cambodia.

Dr. Darwin HEM (Naryth HEM) holds an LL.B from the Joint-Law Program of the University of San Francisco (USA) and Cambodia and a CAPA from the Bar Association of Cambodia. Darwin holds a State Doctor Degree in Medicine from the University of Health Science (Cambodia) and a MBA in Finance from Charles Sturt University (Australia). He studied economics in Australia and law in Lyon (France) under various scholarships. Darwin has a Diploma in Economic Law from the Royal School of Administration and a Diploma in Finance from Development Alternatives, Inc. (USA).

Prior to becoming an attorney, Darwin qualified as a medical doctor and worked as Chief Financial Controller for the Ministry of Economy & Finance in Cambodia. Before co-founding BNG Legal, he practiced law with a regional law firm which has a base in Cambodia for many years.

As an attorney and legal consultant, Darwin has worked on a wide variety of private projects for major national and international companies operating business in Cambodia, as well as for many public projects funded by the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank.
