Firm Overview:

Samardžić, Oreški & Grbović (SOG) was founded by a group of accomplished, internationally-trained lawyers who discovered that they shared a common fresh vision on how law can be best practiced to most effectively serve clients in the contemporary regional and global environment. Among other things, this included designing a firm that would totally align its lawyers with the client’s interest and be able to offer an integrated collaboration of specialists to address all aspects of the client’s needs at the same time.

SOG is firmly committed to providing advice at the highest level and achieving lasting results for our clients. We pride ourselves in having one of the strongest internationally trained teams currently available on the market, including graduates from Cambridge, Oxford, Georgetown, Chicago Booth School of Business, Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and Lumsa University. Members of our team have benefited from practicing in some of the leading global law firms and legal centers. This, combined with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the local legal, business, and political environment, puts us in a position to provide unique and comprehensive advice to international clients with business interests in the Western Balkans.

We have rigorously implemented a business management model similar to that of some of the most prominent U.S. and U.K. law firms. At SOG, we maintain a ratio of associates to partners significantly below that of other firms. We focus on matters that require the attention, extensive experience and sophisticated know-how of our partners. Hence, the number and type of cases that we handle is capped. This model fosters a culture in which teamwork and putting the interests of our clients first are paramount.

We are firmly committed to a philosophy in which each associate is valued, given clear prominence in front of clients and on the market, and is not considered replaceable. In that regard, SOG was founded with the aim of not being a simple collection of counsels and associates who work under several named partners, rather as a reputable and team-driven organization that should stand the test of time, and in which every junior associate can expect to make partner, equal among peers. The invaluableness of our people and team is reflected precisely in the fact that we guarantee them a clear and equitable career path and future within the firm.

SOG is strongly committed to organic growth. We hire only the top students from the finest regional and foreign law schools and entrust their training only to ourselves. Our goal is not to be the largest firm by number of offices, lawyers or practice groups. Instead, we are first and foremost focused on providing seamless service to our clients. At SOG, we believe that a true and equal general partnership of the finest trained lawyers is the single, most important element in ensuring that we are optimally aligned to deal with our clients’ most demanding legal issues, largest corporate transactions and most serious disputes.
