Shalini Agarwal is a co-founding partner of In Se Legal and leads the firm’s global mobility practice. Shalini has over 25 years of legal experience and specialises in employment and immigration law as well as data protection, privacy and compliance matters. The core of the practice relates to advising clients on a range of legal and regulatory issues relating to employment and immigration law.
Shalini regularly advises clients on contractual documentation, employee on-boarding, terminations including mass layoffs, sexual harassment claims, misconduct, grievance and disciplinary processes and compliance requirements at federal and state levels. The team assists clients in their overall strategy for recruiting and retaining employees. An essential part of the service is the creation and maintenance of a range of employment related documentation including offer letters, employment agreements, confidentiality agreements, IP assignment agreements, non-compete and non-solicit agreements, training bonds, consultancy agreements, secondment and deputation agreements, and severance and release agreements. Shalini also assists multinationals customise employee handbooks to meet specific requirements to suit their operations in India. The team at In Se Legal also assist with social security related issues, working closely with clients and their financial advisers to assist with provident fund contributions, payment of gratuity, payment of bonus and superannuation/retirement benefits.
Shalini is frequently called upon to speak on Indian employment and immigration matters at international conferences.
