A story that matters

We believe that we’re only as good as the good we do.

All the facts and figures that talk to our size and diversity and years of history, as notable and important as they may be, are secondary to the truest measure of Deloitte: the impact we make in the world.

So, when people ask, “what’s different about Deloitte?” the answer resides in the many specific examples of where we have helped Deloitte member firm clients, our people, and sections of society to achieve remarkable goals, solve complex problems or make meaningful progress. Deeper still, it’s in the beliefs, behaviors and fundamental sense of purpose that underpin all that we do.

With over 150 years of hard work and commitment to making a real difference, our organization has grown in scale and diversity—approximately 245,000 people in 150 countries, providing audit, tax, legal, financial advisory, enterprise risk, and consulting services—yet our shared culture remains the same.

For us, good isn’t good enough. We aim to be the best at all that we do—to help clients realize their ambitions; to make a positive difference in society; and to maximize the success of our people. This drive fuels the commitment and humanity that run deep through our every action.

That’s what makes us truly different at Deloitte. Not how big we are, where we are, nor what services we offer. What really defines us is our drive to make an impact that matters in the world.

Why BDO?

The best reason to choose BDO isn’t our service offerings, though they are among the most extensive in our industry. It isn’t our resources, though they are among the broadest in the world. It isn’t that we possess experience working with virtually every business sector in Canada, or that we offer the highest standards of technical excellence, though we do.

Ultimately, the best reason to choose BDO comes down to the relationships we build with our clients and communities. Because at the end of the day, ours is a business of people working with, for, and in the service of others. And when you think about it that way, client service becomes more than just client service; it becomes a firm-wide dedication to helping the people we serve succeed – whatever they need, wherever they are, however we can.

Johanne Barbeau

Johanne Barbeau’s experience in accounting, assurance and business management spans over twenty years, half of which was spent working for an international firm. She also has experience with private entities, where she learned to deal with the constraints and challenges facing the firm’s SME clientele. Her clients come from various sectors: services and real estate, manufacturing, construction, and automotive industries, as well as non-profit organizations. Johanne joined Fauteux, Bruno, Bussière, Leewarden, CPA, LLP (FBBL) as manager in 2011 and was appointed associate in 2014. FBBL merged with BDO Canada s.r.l./s.e.n.c.r.l./LLP in June 2015. In 2017, Johanne was appointed Patner.

Specializing in audits and reporting, Johanne has facilitated many internal training sessions on audit and review procedures, efficiency, time management and client relations. In doing so, she helps meet the requirements of clients, while having them benefit from a highly competitive cost-benefit ratio.

The essence of leadership, teamwork skills, pragmatism and attention to detail mark the diverse career path of Johanne who, as a coach, trained figure skater Josée Chouinard for the 1992 Winter Olympics, in addition to several World Figure Skating Championships and other international figure skating competitions.
