Sharon Thorne

Sharon Thorne is the chair of the Deloitte Global Board of Directors. Prior to leading the board, Sharon was the deputy CEO and managing partner Global & Strategy of Deloitte North West Europe (NWE), and a member of the Deloitte Global Board of Directors. She has long been a champion of Deloitte’s ambition to achieve higher representation of women in leadership globally.

As a member of the NWE Executive, Sharon’s main responsibility was to lead the worldwide dimension of Deloitte NWE’s strategy, which recognises the importance of international trade and investment to Deloitte NWE, its clients, and stakeholders. Between 2015 and 2019, Sharon was the executive sponsor for the creation of Deloitte NWE, designed to expand the capacity of Deloitte firms within the region to serve clients and attract talented people.

Prior to her role as Managing Partner Global & Strategy, Sharon was a Deloitte UK audit partner for 20 years, and has more than 30 years of experience auditing and advising clients across a broad range of sectors. This includes extensive experience serving as lead audit partner for FTSE-listed clients, coordinating services around the globe, and an outstanding record of delivering service with quality and distinction.

In addition to delivering audit services, Sharon has significant advisory experience, including two secondments to Deloitte UK’s financial advisory business and helping her clients with various mergers & acquisitions activities. Earlier in her career, Sharon spent a year in industry as the finance director of a subsidiary of a listed company.

In addition to a number of executive roles, including Deloitte UK managing partner Talent and Deloitte UK managing partner Regional Markets, Sharon has spent more than three decades on boards, including as chair. This includes nine years on the Deloitte Global Board of Directors and six years on the Deloitte UK Board of Directors.

Sharon’s other board experience includes six years on the Confederation of British Industry Board of Directors and four years as a Trustee for Prostate Cancer UK. She is a current member of the A4S Advisory Council, the Social Progress Imperative Board of Directors, and the Stewardship Board of the World Economic Forum Platform for Shaping the Future of the New Economy and Society.

Sharon graduated from Oxford University with a degree in Philosophy, Economics, and Politics; and she is a fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. She lives in the UK with her husband John and their two dogs, has three grown-up stepdaughters, and enjoys watching Manchester United and playing golf.

Jean-Pascal Nepper

Jean-Pascal Nepper is a Partner within KPMG Luxembourg’s Advisory practice. He began his career in 1997 as a relationship manager in private banking, managing Russian-speaking and Eastern European HNWIs. He then joined KPMG in 2001 as a management consultant, performing and delivering organisational, IT and HR projects in the Luxembourg banking sector. Promoted to Partner in 2011, Jean-Pascal currently leads the Customer and Operations and HR Advisory practices, with a focus on large-scale transformation programmes, customer-oriented solutions and human resource projects.

Simon Nicholas

Simon Nicholas joined KPMG Isle of Man in 2010. Prior to moving to the Isle of Man, Simon worked for KPMG in Bermuda for 6 years. Simon has over 14 years of experience audit and advisory services with financial services clients, primarily in the insurance industry.

During his career, Simon has worked with the Lloyd’s and London insurance markets, the Bermuda captive and commercial reinsurance markets and the Isle of Man captive insurance, life assurer, banking and funds industries.

Simon leads our local insurance practice with a focus on both audit and advisory engagements, largely consisting of external and internal audit engagements for KPMG’s insurance clients and local subsidiaries of large European life assurers. Simons currently works with clients across the Isle of Man, the UK and Gibraltar.

Simon sits on the local insurance focus group, the Isle of Man Captive Association – both on the executive committee and the marketing and strategy sub-committee and on behalf of Isle of Man Finance represents and promotes the Isle of Man insurance industry. Simon is also a member of the Manx Insurance Association and Association of International Life Offices.

Simon has been part of the KPMG Financial Derivative Resource (FDR) team.

Ash Raghavan is a principal in the US Deloitte Advisory practice and the Cyber Center of Excellence Leader for Deloitte Global Risk Advisory. He has worked in a wide variety of industries, but has primarily focused in financial services the past six years. Ash has over 14 years of experience and specializes in Operations Risk and IT Risk Management consulting. He has helped clients establish enterprise risk management programs, perform enterprise wide risk assessments, develop risk management policies, deploy technology solutions, and design and implement infrastructure security solutions.

Cunden Rengassamy is a Chartered Certified Accountant who has spent more than 26 years in the auditing profession, working for leading accountancy firms in Mauritius. He has considerable experience in auditing financial statements of entities in all major economic sphere in Mauritius. He has engaged in audit assignments in African and European countries for international organisations.

Cunden Rengassamy is the founder of DFK – r.c partners, an accounting practice, and actually occupies the post of Managing Partner.

On the basis of his considerable business and technical experience, Cunden Rengassamy also engages in advisory services relating to taxation, share valuation and business consulting.
