Jonathan Waters Named International Arbitration Expert of the Year in the UK 2026

Advisory Excellence is pleased to announce that Jonathan Waters, of JRW Law Limited, has been recognised as International Arbitration Expert of the Year in the UK 2026.

This recognition reflects Jonathan’s extensive experience in international arbitration and commercial dispute resolution, built over more than 30 years of in-house legal work, including more than 25 years in senior positions. His career has spanned multiple sectors and jurisdictions, including insurance, hospitality, healthcare and soft commodities, giving him broad experience in complex commercial and legal matters.

For the last decade, Jonathan has served as General Counsel of GAFTA (The Grain and Feed Trade Association), where he is responsible for all group legal affairs and GAFTA’s international arbitration service, which handles in excess of 400 commercial arbitration disputes a year. Alongside this role, he provides part-time legal consultancy work through the law firm MyInHouseLawyer, where he specialises in helping ambitious SMEs with dispute resolution, as well as employment and commercial contracts. His work across these roles reflects his broad expertise in international arbitration, dispute resolution and commercial law.
