Professional Biography:

Ms. Trudy O. Glasgow obtained her first degree, B.A History from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill campus, Barbados. She graduated from the University of Hull having completed the LL.B (Honours) degree in 1999, and completed the Bar Vocational Course at the University of Northumbria in Newcastle the following year. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales with the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn in 2000 and to the local Bar in the same year. Ms. Glasgow obtained her Masters in International and Commercial law as well as the Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (P.C.H.E.) from the University of Sheffield, where she taught for almost five years. Ms. Glasgow is a qualified university lecturer.

On her return to Saint Lucia, Ms. Glasgow was in private practice with a local law firm for five years until she opened her own office in the Rodney Bay area. She is an active member of the Saint Lucia Bar Association, and was instrumental in launching The Brief, its legal magazine, as its first Managing Editor. Ms. Glasgow was chosen as one of 12 young professionals pursuing excellence and featured on 1st National Bank St. Lucia Limited’s calendar for 2009.

Ms. Glasgow is the author of the popular weekly legal column entitled ‘Simply Law’ in The Voice newspaper since July 2007. She is the 2006 recipient of the Victoria Fisher prize for her essay on Women and the law. She is also a Director of National Research and Development Foundation (NRDF) and Chairperson of its Training and Marketing Committee since October 2010. Ms. Glasgow is also one of the founding members of the recently launched Lincoln’s Inn Caribbean Alumni Association.
