Tim is a partner and advocate in the dispute resolution and litigation group. He specialises in advisory and trial work with expertise in company law disputes and contentious corporate transactional matters, banking and financial services litigation, funds litigation and shareholder activism, and regulatory investigations, as well as having significant experience in the fields of corporate insolvency, restructuring and general commercial and trusts litigation. He has undertaken numerous contentious and non-contentious schemes of arrangement, including takeover schemes and bespoke members’ and creditors’ schemes. During his career he has appeared in matters before the English High Court, the Royal Court of Guernsey and the Guernsey Court of Appeal.

Tim is ranked consistently by the independent, international legal directories as one of Guernsey’s leading litigators (Legal 500, Chambers UK and Global, the International Bar Association’s ‘Who’s Who Legal’), and has been described in them as, “terrific”; “a master of litigation with an analytical mind who can think outside the box to find sensible solutions”; “the right man for difficult heavyweight commercial litigation”; as having a “dominant and effective courtroom presence”; “relentlessly charming, unflappable and totally dedicated to winning”; and a “team player and a delight to work with.”

Tim’s representative work often has an international / cross-border element, and he has acted for boards of directors (either in contentious or regulatory matters, but also as part of his board advisory practice, assisting boards of directors, or committees or constituents thereof, on commercially sensitive or complex transactions and investigations), major corporates, investment banks, funds, private equity houses and other financial institutions, as well as administrators/custodians/investment managers, and companies investors, trustees, office holders and individuals.
