Istanbul is a major city in Turkey that straddles Europe and Asia across the Bosphorus Strait. Its Old City reflects cultural influences of the many empires that once ruled here. In the Sultanahmet district, the open-air, Roman-era Hippodrome was for centuries the site of chariot races, and Egyptian obelisks also remain. The iconic Byzantine Hagia Sophia features a soaring 6th-century dome and rare Christian mosaics.
Selim graduated from the Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Business Administration of the University of Ankara. He has a Master’s Degree in Finance from the University of Illinois.
Selim started his professional career at the Treasury Undersecretariat. He later worked as the Chief Inspector and the Head of Department at the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency. He continued his professional life at T.C.Ziraat Bank A.S. as Deputy General Manager and in 2013, was Executive Vice President at Şekerbank. In addition to these positions he has provided professional services to many financial corporations as member and president of executive boards.
