In fact, Maurizio has assisted on the occasion of some of the largest acquisitions and buy outs which took place in Italy in recent years, starting with his representation of French energy giant EDF in the acquisition of Montedison, which was the first hostile takeover of an Italian listed company. He also represented the Russian group Severstal in the acquisition of Lucchini, which was the second largest Italian steel manufacturer.

Maurizio’s mergers and acquisitions experience includes diverse industries such as steel, oil and gas, insurance, chemical and pharmaceutical, automotive, aerospace and defence, design and various infrastructure companies where he represented both strategic and financial investors, either Italian or international.

Maurizio has written monographs and published articles in major law reviews in the fields of corporate finance, corporate governance, the protection of minority shareholders, and antitrust. He is a frequent lecturer at national and international symposia in these fields. He received JSD from Stanford Law School and was a visiting scholar both at Stanford and Yale law Schools.
