Professional Biography:

Martin Codd leads the firm’s property entrepreneurs team. He joined Penningtons in 2011 from Dawsons Solicitors and deals with a wide variety of work in the residential/commercial property sectors. His practice includes the acquisition and disposal of investment properties, as well as advising clients on Landlord and Tenant law.

He acts for a range of clients including institutional investors, private property companies, property funds, individual investors, property traders and owner occupiers.

Martin has considerable experience in dealing with difficult and complicated enfranchisement claims and has been a member of the Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners since its inception. Martin is also accredited to the Law Society’s CQS scheme for residential conveyancing.

Recent Work Highlights:

  • Bringing a claim and acting for a commercial tenant against the Howard de Walden estate under the Leasehold Reform Act 1967.
  • Acting for a private investor on the acquisition and disposal of 110 houses.
  • Advising a private property company on the acquisition, lease-back and disposal of numerous commercial properties.
