Professional Biography:

Kathryn Pacey’s clients – both public and private sector – get specialist environment and planning law advice, backed up by a track record in environment and planning litigation in the Planning and Environment Court, inquiries and Supreme Court.

Her particular focus on major projects approvals and environmental assessments has led to her managing project approvals from application stage through to compliance for some of Queensland’s biggest infrastructure and resources projects.

More generally, Kathryn helps clients with their obligations under environment laws, from the day-to-day issues such as site environmental compliance, through to the complex and high-profile problems of incident management.

She also carries out due diligence for vendors and purchasers of land, agricultural businesses, mining interests and industrial facilities.

Other environment and planning issues that Kathryn advises on include master planning for new communities; vegetation clearing and offsets; waste management; local, State and Commonwealth heritage issues; contamination; water licensing; compliance and town planning.
