Grace (Managing Partner) obtained her law degree from the University of Zambia (LLB) in 2009. She was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Zambia on 17th December 2010 and has been in private practice since then. She joined MNB Legal Practitioners Kitwe immediately after her admission as an Advocate which later became known as ECB Legal Practitioners. She rose from position of Junior Associate at ECB Legal Practitioners to the position of Senior Associate-Head of Litigation, a position she held until April 2018. In May 2018, Ms Kumwenda joined M. Musonda & Company as Managing Partner taking over from Justice Michael Musonda SC after his appointment as Supreme Court Judge until December 2018. Ms Kumwenda is an Associate-Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and of the Zambian Branch of the Institute of Arbitrators. Currently Ms. Kumwenda is a board member for Child Outreach Advocacy and Council Member for Sports Council of Zambia.

Grace Kumwenda is specialised in general civil litigation and is experienced in all aspects of corporate and commercial matters including drafting of commercial agreements, legal advice on all aspects of the law, legal opinions, conveyancing, commercial transactions, insolvency (receiverships and liquidations). She has extensive litigation experience in the area of employment law and land disputes as well non-contentious litigation matters including divorce, probate and administration. Recently she was adopted by the Southern African Human Rights Defenders Network as a Human Rights Defender on account of her work and dedication in protecting and speaking for the oppressed.
