Professional Biography:

Chris de Bres joined HBN Law in 2011 and became a partner of the firm in 2012. He started his career in 2000 as an attorney at Clifford Chance in Amsterdam. He switched to Lexence Amsterdam in 2004 were he became a partner in 2007.

Chris is a specialist in corporate and commercial litigation and dispute resolution. He furthermore regularly acts in arbitration proceedings and in corporate inquiry proceedings. Chris represents clients before the courts in the Dutch Caribbean and – being also admitted to the Dutch Bar – in the Netherlands. Among his clients are international companies with large interests in the energy, telecommunication, satellite and financial sectors. Clients appreciate Chris because of his strong litigation skills, extensive knowledge and keen intelligence.

Chris is currently active as member of the board of the Bonaire Bar Association. His work has been published in a variety of Dutch legal publications. In addition he is a part-time lecturer in corporate law at the University of Curaçao. Chris furthermore has lectured at the Center for Postgraduate Education of the Radboud University, Nijmegen for Dutch and Dutch Caribbean lawyers in Curaçao.
