Mikael Wahlgren

Mikael Wahlgren is former general counsel, business lawyer, corporate lawyer, board member and arbitrator specialised in international and Swedish commercial law, company law, acquisition, dispute resolution, board work, arbitration and has lectured on Department of Commercial Law at Lund University and a number of international legal conferences.

Mikael Wahlgren is the owner and founder of the law consultancy firm Linton and Wahlgren AB. He has more than 25 years extensive experience and knowledge of, amongst others, managing arbitrations, disputes and has during the past years acted as an arbitrator and mediator. During his 10 years as General Counsel for the Alfa Laval Group and 15 years as in-house counsel, supporting a number of multinational Swedish and foreign listed companies (i.e. Skanska, ABB, Rolls-Royce and NCC) and in his current role as independent legal counsel, he acts as an arbitrator and mediator with special knowledge of complicated commercial and industrial legal matters within the international manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, construction, Life Science and Med Tech industries.

Dan Engström, MCIArb

Dan Engstrom, MCIArb, is the Managing Partner of the firm.

He has been practicing commercial dispute resolution since the late 1980’s both as legal counsel and as a commercial litigator.

Engstrom has, since 1999, had repeated appointments as an arbitrator, both as party-appointed and institutional appointed. The disputes involve (most frequently) franchise, IT/IP and commercial contract disputes. Engstrom has experience both under the Swedish Arbitration Act and under institutional rules, such as the Rules of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC).

Engstrom has experience from more than 50 commercial arbitrations.

He is frequently appointed as a sole mediator by Swedish courts and by the disputing parties and is the sole author to the Swedish commentary to the Mediation act.

Engstrom is admitted to World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) list of independent international neutrals within Arbitration and Mediation with a focus on intellectual property dispute settlement. He was admitted to ICDR’s International Panel of Arbitrators some years ago.

Engstrom is a published author within the field of Mediation and Dispute Resolution in general. He is frequently contributing to IBA Arbitration Newsletter, GAR, GTDT – Arbitration and other publications. He is frequently engaged as a speaker and a lecturer within the field of Mediation, Dispute Resolution in general and within Franchise.

He is (in selection) a member of the Swedish Bar Association, The International Bar Association, The Chartered Institute of Arbitrator (MCIArb) in London, The American Bar Association, The Swedish Arbitration Society, The Swedish Insurance Law Society and The Swedish Copyright Society. He is also the exclusive Commercial Arbitration member in IR Global for Sweden.

He is listed as a leading individual within Arbitration, Litigation, Mediation and Commercial Dispute Resolution and at present exclusively appointed by Global Law Experts as the leading national expert within Arbitration in Sweden.

He was the Founding Partner of Stockholm Arbitration & Litigation Center (SALC) Lawfirm in 2006 and the managing Partner of the firm for eleven years. He joined NOVA Lawfirm as a partner in June 2017 and is now its Managing Partner.

Christina Berggren

Christina Berggren has extensive experience in the fields of intellectual property, media, marketing and IT law. After spending three years working in court, she entered the consulting world in 1994 and has since then worked in a patent firm, an accounting firm, and after 2003, at MAQS Law Firm. Christina helps companies and government agencies in their task to protect, commercialise, and enforce intellectual property rights such as trademarks, domain names, patents, designs and copyrights, and she assists companies with the regulatory issues relevant to their activities. In addition, she is active in the field of media law, in which she mainly assists print, digital and social-based outfits with issues related to, among others, copyrights, freedom of expression, ethics, data security, privacy, and special legislations such as the so-called ‘BBS law’, the Swedish law on responsibility for electronic bulletin boards.

Christina works closely with companies within the media sector, major domestic and international companies, including famous brands in fashion, cosmetics, retail, automotive, life sciences and technology. She also represents clients within the public sector where she specially helps these actors with protecting its intellectual property rights and with intellectual property rights in contractual situations.
