Boris Šváby

Boris Šváby has been practicing law since 2001. He provides legal services to Slovak, English and French speaking clients in corporate and commercial matters, taking full account of the European Union law.

Boris has extensive experience with corporate law, mainly with mergers and acquisitions (in particular with so-called middle-market transactions), usually representing the buyers. He has so far been involved in more than 20 transactions, where clients have acquired or sold shares or assets in various Slovak companies.

Boris’s corporate experience includes establishing joint ventures and negotiating shareholders agreements.

Boris is also experienced in real property transactions. He advised in several greenfield and brownfield projects, including lease agreements negotiations and setting up of usufruct rights over land and structures.

Boris has extensive expertise in litigation and in debt collection. Recently he represented foreign banks and insurance companies (as defendants) in proceedings before the Slovak courts. Boris also specializes on questions related to the jurisdiction of the Slovak courts with respect to the European Union law.

Boris is also focused on labour law, where he advises many temporary employment agencies. Further, while advising various international groups, Boris has acquired experience in matters concerning cross-border employees secondment in the European Union and in matters concerning mass dismissals. Boris also advises clients on legal aspects of relations between companies and managers, including the termination of such relations.

Boris is fluent in English and French.

Andrea Butašová

Andrea mainly focuses on issues concerning commercial law, real estate, construction and development, and contractual law. More particularly, she focuses on a variety of commercial law issues, among others on acquisition and property management, greenfield projects, customer-supplier relationships, problematic contracts for work and the subsequent litigation.

Andrea is the Leader of the French Desk at PETERKA & PARTNERS. From 2014 to 2019, she was an active member of the Local Management Board and she led the Slovak office for four years.

Andrea has vast experience in the regional coordination of legal services and frequently cooperates with foreign law offices. During her career, she has represented numerous well-known national and international clients, for example, PSA Peugeot Citroën, Veolia, Škoda Transportation, Continental Matador, GEFCO, City-Arena, Skanska, etc.

Andrea is keenly interested in art, especially art history, art law and the business practices of the art world. To obtain further experience and knowledge in these areas, she attended the “Art Law for Art World Professionals” course, and the intensive semester-long programme “Art and Business” offered by Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London, and focused on management issues related to global art business practices, with a particular emphasis on the international auction house system, analysing art market data evaluating the market value for works of art.

Lukáš Michálik

Lukáš joined the firm Hamala Kluch Víglaský in 2006. After significant legal practice at the firm he obtained an LL.M. degree and Business Law Certificate at the top ranked University of California, Berkeley Law. Following his foreign academic experience, for a period of 6 months he has acted as a state advisor on European Union law to the Government Office of the Slovak Republic where he gained significant experience in the public sector and subsequently returned to Hamala Kluch Víglaský.

He specialises in corporate law, M&A, banking & finance and real estate law. Throughout his practice, he has been involved in many complex cross-border transactions including some high-profile and largest deals being handled in the Slovak Republic.   • Johnson Controls on a lease restructuring project which consisted of termination of several leases for various buildings in Bratislava and negotiation of a completely new build-to-suit lease of new HQ Building in the prominent part of Bratislava (left bank of Danube river);
  • CRESCO GROUP, a major Slovak real estate developer, in connection with real estate project Slnecnice in Bratislava consisting of area of more than 38,000 sqm, more than 200 apartments and 70 family houses;
  • Large private equity group in Slovakia on acquisition of approx. 500,000 sqm of land in the vicinity of Bratislava for a future project development;
  • Various local and foreign strategic investors on acquisition, development, supply, operation and exit from 50 MW solar power plants;
  • Executive director of Medina Tours, s.r.o. (one of the largest Slovak travel agencies) on controlled bankruptcy initiated by the debtor;
  • Luxembourg investment company on EUR 24,500,000 acquisition of 100% shareholding in entities owning and operating major hotel in Bratislava;

Tatiana joined the Bratislava office in 1999. Since then, she has focused on real estate and litigation practices and worked on many of the firm’s real estate deals.
