Gustaf Möller

Gustaf Möller works as an international arbitrator and adviser in demanding legal proceedings. He is one of northern Europe’s leading international arbitrators. Prior to joining Krogerus, Mr Möller has served as a Justice at the Supreme Court of Finland. He has also served as the chairman of the board for the Arbitration Institute of the Finland Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration.

Mr Möller has numerous domestic and international memberships and positions of trust. He has written many articles, mainly in the fields of arbitration, civil procedure and private international law.

Teemu Kauttu

Teemu Kauttu specialises in construction law and issues of real estate development. He has been engaged in and consulted on a considerable number of large scale real estate deals and real estate development projects in the Helsinki metropolitan area. He has extensive experience in major and demanding litigations and arbitrations of construction and real estate disputes. Teemu is a member of the Finnish Arbitration Association and he is accredited as a mediator by the Finnish Bar Association.

Ossi Haapaniemi

Ossi heads our Finnish Tax practice. His fields of expertise include public and private M&A, capital markets, financial instruments, incentive schemes, EU tax law and tax litigation.

Ossi’s career to date has included positions as tax auditor at a provincial tax office, tax manager at Arthur Andersen, as well as director and partner in charge of structuring and taxation of M&A and capital markets transactions at Evli Corporate Finance (later Evli Bank). Ossi has vast experience and in-depth knowledge of corporate taxation, especially of financial instruments, corporate finance transactions and incentive schemes. He is a frequent speaker at seminars and has written numerous articles and books on taxation (e.g. the Finnish national report for the 2000 IFA Congress on ‘Tax treatment of hybrid financial instruments in cross-border transactions’). In 2006, he successfully defended his tax law dissertation on the Tax Treatment of Stock-Based Incentive Schemes. In 2009 he was again the IFA national reporter on the subject “Foreign exchange issues in international taxation”.

Pekka Valo

Pekka has wide experience in business law both in Finland and England where he has worked several years as Solicitor and In-house lawyer.

Mr. Valo is specialised in International Contract Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Dispute Resolution, IP and ICT Law. He has represented several internationally known brand names especially in the fashion and design industry in their issues relating to Trade Marks, Design Rights, Franchise and Distribution. He has advised in numerous international corporate arrangements, English sports teams with their establishment as corporate entities, online gaming companies setting up and running the their business and an Arctic expedition team in their sponsorship issues. He has also worked in a Financial Services company in the City of London as a Legal Counsel and FSA (currently FCA) approved Compliance Officer and MLRO.

In addition to his work Pekka has done research as Doctoral Associate in Queen Mary Intellectual Property Research Institute (QMIPRI) University of London. The focus of his research was in Copyright issues of audio-visual works. During the time he wrote numerous articles involving Design Right, Patent, Trade Mark and Copyright to an online publication of an international law firm. He took part to teaching of the Institute by familiarising the representatives of EU candidate states with Intellectual Property Rights.

Pekka is a member of the Finnish Bar Association and the Law Society of England and Wales.

Hanna-Maija Elo

Hanna-Maija Elo specialises in handling different types of cases related to intellectual property rights. She is particularly experienced in infringement of trademark, design and commercial name rights and IPR, and counterfeit and parallel import cases based on customs control. Additionally, Hanna-Maija has many years of experience in contract law, particularly in franchising agreements and generally in franchising law. Hanna-Maija is one of the founders of the Finnish Anti-Counterfeiting Group and has also served as the chair of the Group.
