DDr. Karina Hellbert, LL.M.

Karina Hellbert is a lawyer at Polak & Partner and Head of Life Sciences / Pharma Law. She studied microbiology (Mag. rer. nat., 1996; Dr. rer. nat., 1999) and law (Mag. iur., 1999; Dr. iur., 2002) at the University of Innsbruck and completed the Pallas Program – University of Nijmegen (LL.M. 2000). In 2007 she was admitted to the bar in Austria. Before karina Hellbert supported the Polak & Partner team, she was a consultant at Covington & Burling Rechtsanwälte (2001 – 04/2004).

Since September 2011, she has also been a lecturer at the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems and the Danube University Krems. Since January 2015, she has also strengthened the Scientific Advisory Board for European Integration of the Danube University krems.

Her main areas of activity are in the areas of pharmaceutical law, medical devices, patent law, intellectual property law, unfair competition law, data protection, licensing agreements, IT, product liability and food law.

Dieter is a Partner at our Vienna office and head of our “Competition Law” practice group. Dieter is one of the leading Austrian experts in the areas of European and national competition law and represents national and international clients in merger control proceedings, cartel and abuse of dominance cases as well as in cartel damages proceedings (private enforcement). His profile is completed by broad experience with the execution of internal investigations and the implementation of antitrust compliance programs.

Prior to joining our firm, he worked for a leading international law firm in Vienna for six years. He started his career as an intern at the Legal Service of the European Commission. Dieter is the author of several articles on competition law and lectures at the University at Graz.

Gabriela Fischmeister

Gabriela Fischmeister is the Managing Director of several business entities in the fields of finance, tax and accounting, HR and IT solutions.

Gabriela started her career in 1979 at Arthur Anderson Vienna as head of the HR and accounting department, and between 1989 and 2004 Gabriela served as the leading international partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers responsible for HR & recruiting, as well as leading the payroll, accounting and tax services department for small & medium-sized businesses. She also established the corporate administrative services division with over 150 employees at PwC Vienna.
