What Is Revolt TV? We Explain Here

Sean “Diddy” Combs and Andy Schuon developed the music-focused digital cable television network Revolt, which debuted on October 21, 2013. It has a YouTube channel as well.

In 2002, Combs was ranked 12th among the top 40 entrepreneurs under the age of 40 by Fortune magazine. According to Forbes Magazine’s calculations, Combs made $130 million in the fiscal year that ended in May 2017, placing him first among artists. His alleged net worth in 2019 was $740 million.

Network

Comcast Corporation agreed to transmit a number of minority-owned networks as part of its agreement to buy a minority stake in NBCUniversal. The agreement was reached as a result of Maxine Waters’ advocacy during congressional hearings.

Comcast requested bids for networks owned by minorities in April 2011. Comcast announced distribution agreements for four networks, including Revolt, in February 2012. Out of more than 100 ideas, the four announced networks and six upcoming stations will debut by the year 2020.

The network stated on October 1 that it would make its debut in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago on October 21.

The SD channel was added to AT&T U-verse on July 27. The HD channel followed on November 24. It was added on December 24, 2015, by DirecTV.

Revolt is primarily focused on Urban current music, and the majority of the network’s afternoon programming consists of music video blocks. African American social justice topics have been highlighted in Revolt’s original programming.

Although Revolt Films is not a part of the network, it uses the same name for branding purposes. It focuses on creating, funding, and producing movies and original television shows. Lawless was its first long form feature picture. Among the other credits is Dope.
